The range of health services available in Kilmore is probably unrivalled in any other Victorian country town.
Facilities are centred around Kilmore's 30-bed acute nursing hospital, with a modern surgical suite for day procedures and a recently opened obstetrics unit. Nearby is Caldenia, a 30 bed aged nursing home and also the recently opened Dianella Village, a 30 bed aged hostel.
Some thirty specialist, surgical and general medical practitioners have been appointed to the Kilmore Hospital to provide a wide spectrum of medical services. The most recently appointed being: an oncologist to supervise inpatient and outpatient chemotherapy; a dietician to provide specificic dietary advice; and a social worker.
Expanded diagnostic services include: endoscopy; pathology; X-Ray, Imaging, Ultrasound and CAT Scan facilities.
A 24-Hour Emergency Department is provided with an 'on call' doctor.
